1. 작품소개 About the Novel
이 작품은 미국의 20대, 30대 여성들로 구성된 퓨전 재즈-록 밴드 ‘새틴 크레센트’의 멤버들과 그 주변 인물들의 삶을 그린 창작 소설입니다.
This is an original novel about the lives of the members of Satin Crescent, a fusion jazz-rock band made up of American women in their twenties and thirties, as well as the people around them.
소재와 시트콤적인 분위기는 미국적인 정서를 의도했으며, 전개는 일본의 미소녀 밴드물 만화를 의식했고, 문체는 작가 스스로에게 익숙한 한국식 웹소설의 문체를 이용하였습니다.
The subject matter and sitcom-like atmosphere are intended to evoke an American sensibility, while the story development is influenced by Japanese manga about all-female bands. The prose itself follows the style of Korean web novels, which is the form of writing most familiar to the author.
2. 앞으로의 계획 Plans for the Future

At present, I have absolutely no plans to place the online serialization of this novel—the version you are currently reading through bsky.app—behind a paywall.

If I were to receive an offer for print or electronic publication, or a proposal for some form of collaboration, I might change my mind. However, I am an obscure writer who published three or four books some twenty years ago and has since been largely forgotten, so I have no idea whether such an offer will ever come my way.

3. 블루스카이에서의 연재를 시작하며 Beginning Serialization on Bluesky
이 소설은 원래 2026년 5월 말, X(구 트위터)에서 연재를 시작했습니다.
This novel was originally serialized on X (formerly Twitter), beginning in late May 2026.
한국 내의 웹소설 사이트에서 연재하지 않고 X에서 연재를 시작했던 이유는 세 가지입니다.
There were three reasons why I chose to begin serializing it on X rather than on a Korean web-novel platform.
첫째, 기존에 한국에서 생산되고 소비되는 웹소설 장르 중 어느 쪽의 형식에도 잘 맞지 않는 시트콤 장르이기 때문입니다.
First, this is essentially a sitcom, and it does not fit comfortably into the established formats of the web-novel genres currently produced and consumed in Korea.
둘째, 한국뿐만 아니라 일본과 중화권, 유럽, 북미 등 여러 문화권으로 전파되고 소비되기를 원했기 때문입니다.
Second, I wanted the work to reach and be read by people from a variety of cultural regions—not only Korea, but also Japan, Chinese-speaking regions, Europe, North America, and elsewhere.
마지막 셋째로, 일본의 독특한 사이버펑크 닌자 활극 <닌자 슬레이어>가 X의 전신인 트위터를 통한 연재로 널리 알려진 성공적인 선행 사례였기 때문에, 작가도 X에서의 연재를 결정했던 것입니다.
Third and finally, the distinctive Japanese cyberpunk ninja action series Ninja Slayer had already provided a successful precedent for a work becoming widely known through serialization on Twitter, the predecessor of X. That example was one of the reasons I decided to serialize my own novel on X.
그러나 X라는 플랫폼에서 소설을 연재하기 위해 긴 본문을 짧은 분량으로 나누어 다수의 연속된 게시물로 올리는 과정에서, X는 작가의 연속된 소설 포스팅을 계정의 부정사용, 즉 스패밍으로 간주하여 작가의 계정을 영구 정지시켰습니다.
However, serializing a novel on X required me to divide long passages into shorter sections and post them as a large number of consecutive entries. In the process, X classified these consecutive novel posts as platform abuse—in other words, spamming—and permanently suspended my account.
작가는 크게 고심하다가 블루스카이(bsky.app) + 리플렛(leaflet.pub)의 형식을 이용해, 소설 본문은 리플렛에 올리고 그 본문으로 연결되는 짧은 글은 블루스카이에 게재하는 형태로 연재하기로 했습니다.
After giving the matter considerable thought, I decided to continue the serialization using a combination of Bluesky (bsky.app) and Leaflet (leaflet.pub): the full text of each installment will be posted on Leaflet, while a shorter post linking to it will be published on Bluesky.
지금으로서는 이 방식이 작가가 원하는 두 가지 조건, 즉 ‘특정한 웹사이트에 회원가입을 하지 않아도 여러 국가의 불특정 다수가 읽을 수 있는 접근성’과 ‘장문의 소설을 무료로 읽을 수 있는 연재 방식’을 모두 충족시킬 수 있을 것 같습니다.
For the time being, this format seems capable of satisfying the two conditions I wanted: accessibility that allows an unspecified number of readers from many different countries to read the work without having to register for a particular website, and a way to serialize long-form fiction that remains free to read.
4. 추가로 알려드리는 말씀 A Few Additional Notes
작품 내 캐릭터들의 정치적 관점, 성적 지향성, 삶의 지향목표는 각 인물 자신의 것입니다. 이 작품은 어느 하나의 일관된 관점을 대변하기보다 서로 다른 인물들이 가진 다양한 관점과 삶의 방식을 보여주고자 합니다.
The political views, sexual orientations, and goals in life expressed by the characters in this novel belong to the individual characters themselves. Rather than representing a single consistent viewpoint, the novel is intended to portray people with differing perspectives and different ways of living.
따라서 각 캐릭터의 생각과 행동은 작가 본인의 견해와는 무관하며, 작품 전체가 주장하고자 하는 입장과도 반드시 일치하는 것은 아닙니다.
Accordingly, the thoughts and actions of individual characters do not necessarily reflect the author's own views, nor do they necessarily coincide with any position expressed by the work as a whole.
또한 작가는 텍스트만으로 이루어진 게시물이 많은 독자들의 주의를 끌기에는 부족할 수 있다고 생각하여, AI 이미지 생성을 이용한 삽화를 함께 첨부하고 있습니다. 이는 작품을 보조하기 위한 매체일 뿐이며, AI 일러스트 자체를 작품의 중심에 놓고 있지는 않습니다.
I am also aware that text-only posts may have difficulty attracting the attention of many readers, so I include illustrations created with AI image-generation tools. These images are intended only as supplementary material for the novel; AI-generated illustration itself is not the central focus of the work.
작가는 인간 아티스트들의 창작물이 AI 일러스트보다 더욱 중요하게 다루어지고 존중받아야 한다는 관점을 가지고 있습니다.
I believe that the creative work of human artists deserves to be treated as more important than AI-generated illustration and to receive greater respect.
